Winch with a wireless remote makes it so easy and as Bob mentioned, a racing clutch (ie multiplate small diameter version) will not take the abuse of driving it into the trailer.

Push... but I'm porbably an exception here. I like the electric winch much more than the drive it in method for a big car.

When it's running I drive in and get out. When it's not running I winch it in.

Great, this is what I was looking for.
I will probably shoot for a 24ft.
I have no problem with the tow vehicle, its a F250 crew cab diesel.
Now just keeping an eye out for a good deal in the Chicago land area.
Thanks guys.

What kind of winch setup are folks using?

I want to do a setup that pulls the car straight in by itself.

Two clips underneath car and some sort of guide system.

pointers?

I use a winch as well. With a race clutch, tall first gear makes driving in difficult. Plus, Im so low to the ramp I can not get in with out being very careful. Don't want to rip my front nose off.

I have a Warn winch with a wireless control. It's really great. One hand on the wheel and one on the remote puts the car exactly where you want it. I have a stop stick on the floor of the trailer where I want the front wheel to end up.

Superwinch 3000 w/ wireless remote bolted thru a 14 x 14 x 1/4" steel plate. The plate is mounted under the plywood floor up tight against a cross member. Used it religiously with my cup, hardly at all with the 996 and Sach's sport clutch (street)...

You don't need any guidance wires. As Dave said above, you just walk next to the car making corrections as necessary....

Please look seriously at an Equalizer (brand E-qua-li-zer) hitch. I've been towing chit my entire life and am amazed at this hitch. Money well spent.

28' Thule aluminum gooseneck. 8' attic and about 20' on the floor. Wireless S5000 winch in a pit in the floor. Trailer came that way. F'd up design. Cable presses very hard on the fairlead rollers and then up and over a mast with a pulley/roller. Winch drum is centered on trailer but tow eye is not centered on the car causing cable to wind mostly on one side of the drum. Cable gets very stressed on the fairlead and sawed it almost in half. Took a sawzall to it last week and cut the top of the fairlead away. Cable has a ton of nasty steel wiskers from the fairlead. Have to use a ****** block to get cable to wind sorta evenly, sucks.
I am currently in the processed of mounting a Warn 3700 winch with wireless control onto the trailer front bulkhead. It will be bolted to aluminum blocks on the outside sandwiching the structural member uprights. Blocks will be drilled and tapped for a future fuel/LP cylinder compartment under the attic. There will be a rail inside that the winch carriage will mount on, be able to slide side to side depending on tow hook on the car location. Working on it this weekend and will post pics of progress and completion.

20 ft V nose Renegade alum trailer. I back it in to put the weight where it should be and easier front tie down due to low front air dam. Somewhat of a be-atch getting my 210 lbs out of the car, but doable. Have a winch for dead car syndrome.

I ended up buying a 24ft enclosed about 2 months after starting this thread. I drive it in 99% of the time, have a winch but only end up using it when something breaks on the car. Had the trailer built with a left side door, but didn't plan on the height of the fender well. With the 911 targa not a problem I always just took the top off before pulling, easy to get out the top. Now with the 968 I ended up putting some planks down so I can open the door through the left side door. After looking back, and even then I wasn't looking at them but I would get a fifth wheel/gooseneck, they are more maneuverable, between the trailer and a crew cab f250 a semi has a better turning radius.
But having a mobile garage is really nice to have.
