I was encouraging my daughter to try karts. Of course I had my secret motives. Instead she chose horses. I'm not sure which are worse.

You can spend $100K running a season in Stars, I've been told you can buy just the horse for $100K.

I don't spend quite that much, but if business stays at current levels, my e-classer will stay put in the garage. My daughter is 12 and I kind of figured I have 5 years left before she is off to college. I'm guessing you made a similar kind of decision with your son. Although, I think you are friggen crazy to keep the 964 Cup off the track this long. If I had that car I'd be putting my kids to work so I could drive it.

OT and FWIW, I will likely be selling the Euro Cup.
I haven't driven it, won't be driving it and with my son going off to college in a couple of years, I dont' think he'll be driving it.
Seems 'wrong' to keep a car sitting (well, occasionally driving around the neighborhood).
Again OT, the "plan" is for this to be my son's last year of national karting, since next year he'll be a junior in high school so it's time to get thinking about college, SAT's, etc.
As one person at the track commented, "it's nice to see a young driver who actually has a life". There are many who end up not landing a ride, not having a high school or college degree and then what.

Sounds like a good deal. Only problem is I just blew my $300 winter racing budget on an 1991 Audi 100 5 spd and a set of blizzaks to go ice racing (split 50/50 with my friend)

I've done that the last few years when they've had it. Another plus for them is you can run your street car. Here's some video from my car last year-
The real wheel to wheel stuff is run by AMEC (Adirondack Motor Enthusiast Club), out in central to eastern NY. They've already had there first event for the year. They have multiple classes, but the most popular is street legal, which is a no contact class, run on normal non studded snow tires. I'd like to get out there this weekend, but it looks more like we won't have the car ready til the weekend after.

Sorry missed this, he actually got the car for free (his dad is a fellow german car shop owner). I'm just paying for snows, lol. I'm still not sure how were going to work out splitting the driving two ways . Guess I'll do like I always do and cross that bridge when we get there .
