Hey nice video. Looks a very competitive way of getting racing. Tell me, are the Cups all 2.5 n/a and the Supercup 2.5L turbo? Or can you have both in either class depending on power to weight?

Thanks. Good question. The Cup class includes only the 2.5L and 2.7L 8 valve normally aspirated cars, plus the 931.

The Super Cup includes the 951 and 951S, and the 16 valve NA cars like the 944S and S2. Additionally we also allow the 8 valve cars to run in Super Cup but let them do some additional mods including another 25 hp and a lower base weight, which gets them to the same power to weight as the other Super Cup cars.

It's a blast. Drop me a line when you are ready to jump in, and I'll help u get started. Til then.

Thanks for posting those details Dan. The 944 Cup is looking ahead to another great year in 2009. With overall entries up again for the 7th straight year, the series will plan to focus on its core locations on the East Coast and the Great Pacfic NorthWest, with a look North to add 3 races in Canada.

The rules for 2009 will remain very much the same with just a few tweaks. Another important development in the offseason has been to secure an affordable and dependable 944 engine supplier for our racers needing to rebuild engines. This has been done through one of our national sponsors -- Lindsey Racing. Details: http://www.lindseyracing.com/mm5/mer...de=ENGINE944NA

944Cup is great, I jumped in late last year and find that I'm really looking forward to next season. There will be some fresh blood coming in as well, and I'm excited to be part of a series, unike PCA racing where the events are stand alone races. With NASA Cup, it's a championship, and I don't mind saying that I want it!

Jason -- We do allow the 968 to race in Super Cup with all the PCA "Prepared" mods. Would like to have you in the series, but any further mods to drive train would likely take them out of the power to weight ratio used for SC. We did try to do a 3rd class as an exhibition for a GT class a few years back, but with few takers.

The rwhp for the 5.0L 928s in the table looks too low. My 86 makes 275 rwhp with just exhaust mods. Would an alternate rwhp to weight ratio classification make sense for the Supercup?

The Super Cup is only able to accommodate the early model 928 models on PCA C and D which have a lower/workable HP output. For the later model 928 cars, like your '86 ( E class), the HP jumps up quite a bit and there's no good way to get them to the proper power to weigh ratio for the class, so we just needed to exclude them from being classified in the series.
