Lessons..
Still not running the pace the car should but I had a great time at the Hallett PCA Club Race and again at a DE at Heartland Park.
Learned an important lesson, if the fuel filter needs replacing the fuel filter screen probably needs attention too.
When I started the car to drive off the trailer after the DE I got ZERO oil pressure, shut it right back down. Never had something fail while trailering home before, rod bearings were on my winter to do list anyway.

Nordschleife Master
I would recommend adding a brace to the pickup to reduce the likeliness of that happening again.
What shock/spring setup do you run?
What's the width and ET on those 18" CCW wheels, and what tire sizes?
The setup looks perfect!

Good advice on the pickup.
I'm running bilstein escort cup with 600lb springs in front, penske rear shocks with 800lb springs in the back.
The CCW's are 18x10@65 with 285/30's.

Are you running balance shafts?
Solid motor mounts?
If you were vibrating the pickup tube, make sure your fuel rail isn't showing signs of fatigue. Those two will go hand in hand sometimes. Make for another unfortunate fire....

Balance shafts are in, I checked and they are clocked correctly, stock motor mounts. PO had balance shafts clocked wrong, I had them wrong for one event when I lost tension on the balance belt (water pump swap at the track, bad mechanic skills on my part didn't get idler tightened enough). New CEP fuel rail should be OK (installed after balance shaft issues), I should be done with stuff falling off now :O

Damn Ron, are you sure you didn't self destruct your motor trying to keep up?
Glad to hear the OP issue was caught off track and not on! My CEP rail is on the way, muhahaha.
That was the most fun i've had at a de in a long time. Too bad we lost Brian a day early!

They are 65mm offset. Camber plates are necessary for the fronts to clear on the inside. I also have 1" over front fenders, but I think that the original sheet metal can be bent enough to clear.

Heartland Club Race in April went better than last year. Worked on motor tune on Friday, motor finally pulled to red line consistently by the end of the day. At least no fire, still nowhere close to a class competitive pace but much faster than last year. Transmission got steadily worse all weekend. Speedometer pickup became intermittent. Last race it balked every shift up or down. On the last lap of the last race the turbo cooling pump housing cracked, let the water out, I parked the car with half a lap to go. It got hot enough to blow the head gasket. I've fixed the head gasket and coolant leak. Now I'm looking at options for the transmission.

Good for you. Love your persistence. Hope these small issues get resolved quickly and it becomes a turn up and drive racecar.

Probably will repaint the nose over the winter. Silver windshield banner sounds like a great idea!
Dead trans out in the picture. Trans from street car now in. The street car will just have to sit for awhile :O
Looking forward to Hallett!

How much does the car weigh...if you haven't already stated. Approx is ok.

Did a tune and test at Heartland Park two weeks before Hallett to make sure everything was working, car ran and handled great. Motor ran great on Friday tune/test for Hallett but shock absorber lower mount bolt failed twice. Drove home overnight (5 hours one way) stripped rear coil overs off my street car at midnight (they use the stock bolts), returned and fixed the racer Saturday morning, missed just one practice session Saturday morning. Electrical gremlins attacked Saturday, kept the motor from running right and made the car PAINFULLY slow. Went farming and tore off the splitter along with large chunks of the nose in qualifying. Clutch failed in the afternoon sprint race. Looks like that trans will be coming out again soon.
