There is a great article, written by Randy Pobst, in the current SportsCar magazine about coaching. Check it out.

I don't think they post Randy's current articles online. You may have to wait a month or two for that, sorry.
You can see the article mentioned on their website, but no link to it:

I enjoy reading Randy's thoughts in his SportsCar column.
Indeed, the current column (Jan. '09) of Coaching that VR cites is as enjoyable and insightful as any.

I think VR is still busy with some of the other stuff I sent him in my PM, so in the meantime...
Edit by Mark - Sorry to mess this up, but this is copyrighted material and cannot be posted here. I know this stuff has been done before, but some of the Rennlist charter rules have gotten out of hand and we are trying to move back to what Rennlist was and what made it such a great site. You can certainly collect email addresses and send this outside of Rennlist.

Great article written by Randy. A lot his advice in the columns helps out with racing a lot. He is also correct talking about coaching or having a mentor. Without either the learning curve of racing is very steep because it is relatively easy to turn a fast lap but to do it over and over while the pressure is on is a different thing. Having a coach or mentor who shares with you their own experiences makes it easier and quicker.
