What's the difference...

...between a bond trader and a pigeon?

A pigeon can put a deposit on a new Porsche!!!

some of us are now getting royally screwed, especially us who still work (or think we're still employed at this moment) on Wall St. it's getting fuglier by the minute...

If it's any comfort, it looks just as fugly here.

what's the difference between an investment banker's pay and a large pizza?

You can feed your family with a large pizza.

Just a guess, but I think it's going to be hard for any Wall Street "executives" to get any sympathy from the general public.

Some of the CEO compensation (re: AIG) isn't going over too well at the local coffee shops

The S&P 500 has now officially delivered 10 years of nothin' - it's in the same range it was in the summer of 1998... but what a ride! Anyone want to open a savings account?

i think people would put their money under the mattress if it weren't for the fact their house might go into foreclosure

Hmm.... True.
It's quite a bit off-topic. Lets make it on-topic!

Will there be more or less crashes in Club Racing and DE next year, because of this?!!

How about putting it on topic... by starting a poll.

How many people have partially, drastically cut back on their track events, if any?

you're right the thread may not last long on this forum but, sadly, the aftershocks of this meltdown are coming to racing very soon...

Welcome to the party...
Those of us on the front lines in the Real Estate game have been dealing with a severely down market since November '06. Most of our clientsw are in the top 5% income bracket and are somewhat insulated but they cannot sell their existing homes up North. Two of them in the last year have "sold" their homes to their kids...
I told my wife yesterday that we're not going to even bother opening our monthly brokerage statement when it comes. Some things are better left alone.
We paid our son's college tuition for this fall out of our pocket instead of his UTMA because the majority of it is in "safe" bank stocks....
I sincerely feel for anyone else that gets sucked into this black hole...BUT we will get through this and in the end that which doesn't kill us makes us stronger! :soapbox:

On a bright note I am going to VIR this weekend
