Hudson Valley Region WGI DE / Open Track Event October 15/16
The Hudson Valley Region is pleased to once again offer our "Driving into Fall" event at Watkins Glen. This event will offer the same unique format as last year with only two run groups (assigned) and sessions that vary in duration. There will be something for everyone by offering both Driver's School and Open Track with lots of track time for both. We'll be inviting BMW club drivers and others, so there will be opportunity to make new friends and drive with makes other than Porsche. Those who have run with our Region before know that we offer a relaxed, low key event. Since this is still a new event for us, we expect to have 60-65 drivers so we estimate the run groups will be empty with lots of passing opportunities.

• 9:30-10:00 - Instructed Students

3. Open track applicants are typically black and red drivers.

As the track chair and registrar for this event, I have finally entered the 21st century and am conducting registration online this year via http://www.clubregistration.net In addition you may pay online via paypal.
We plan to run things the same way as last year, and for those who attended, you know that you will receive maximum track time.
For those instructors who definately want to be utilized for this event, there is a payment option for $150, so that I don't have to be bothered with refunds. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

I just signed up for this and expect it will become one of the premier events of the year. 9.5 hours of track time in 2 days?!? We're going to have to get a tire guy to hang out there and bring extra pads... With about 20 cars registered right now, 4 are 997GT3s - should be interesting!

I expect that we'll have about 60 drivers at this event, so not only will there be lots of track time, the track will be very open trafficwise.

Only 60?!? Wow, that's low and I'll guess that means only about 30 in each. I can remember some sessions at WGI with 50-70 that worked fairly well. Then again, I was just thinking about the speed differential in Open Track. Having a limit on the number of cars should help that greatly.
You should get The Glen to credit back to the chapter some of the gas receipts - with that much track time, it will be hard to find time to drive into town for cheap 93
