Anyone know a nice B&B or Spa near Limerock Park?
I was thinking about going to Limerock with my wife on July 11th for the ALMS race.
Question 1: Can anyone recommend a nice B&B or Spa in that area? Question 2: Anyone here going? |
The Mayflower Inn is world-class (five-star) and is probably about 35 minutes south in Washington, CT.

I'm thinking of actually driving from FL (couple of stops along the way), hanging at a friend's house in Old Lyme a few days afterwards, then driving to Mid-Ohio for the next weekend's race. Somebody talk me out of this insanity please. |

i think there is CANYON RANCH spa just north in Mass and some DUDE RANCH west in NY for horse back riders

+1 on the Mayflower Inn. I spent significant time there as a kid growing up in Western CT (Dinners with the family). The misses will love it.
Here is some random trivia. Did you know that before it became the Mayflower Inn it was rented in the late 1980s to the Rolling Stones as a get-away/practice location prior to their big come-back "Steel Wheels" tour? -Blake ;) |
Yes,
Interlaken Inn http://www.interlakeninn.com Wake Robin Inn http://www.wakerobininn.com/ Both places are right in Lakeville, CT and about 4 Miles from the track. I would call ASAP because if they are not already filled up they will be soon. A place 12 miles away I like is in Cornwall called the Cornwall Inn http://www.cornwallinn.com/. They have a really nice resturant. |

Unfortunately the inn doesn't have any availability right now but as soon as I confirm that I'm off to the races that weekend, I'll call them and plead my case! |

You probably should... :)
You might also want to check out the Lake Waramaugh area - the Hopkins Inn, the Boulders, etc. They are more 3-star hotels as opposed to the Mayflower Inn which is a true 5 star. Southern Mass might be a good bet as well. There are several boutique hotels near Lenox and Great Barrington which may be nice... EDIT: Here are two 4-5 star hotels in Lenox, MA http://www.blantyre.com/ http://www.canyonranch.com/resorts/l...sted=index.asp -Blake |

I've stayed at the Interlaken Inn. It's a good place. Another possibility is the White Hart Inn in nearby Salisbury. My wife and I stayed at both establishments last year, and both are less than ten minutes from LRP.
Tripadvisor.com is a good resource for travelers. Here are my reviews for both B&B's: Interlaken: http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserR...nnecticut.html White Hart: http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserR...nnecticut.html |

We've found some great places using that site. |
With about a month until the event good luck finding lodging close to the track. Teams, etc. will make reservations a year in advance and take up a lot of hotels. I think if you want a closeby place you'll have to bank on a cancellation. My guess is that 30 minutes from the track is where places will be available.

Check up north in Great Barrington, MA. Lots of great quaint B&B, many hotels, lots of good resturants. ton of other stuff to do (hunting for antiques, etc.) About 25-30 minute from the track.
