Default What a great weekend at VIR

I just attended the DE at VIR. It was my first ever. I drove my Porsche on the track without incident. I was there alone but not for long. I learned alot and met some really nice people. I look forward to the next event and seeing all my new friends again. It's definatley all about the people!

I had a good weekend as well... Ran some quick (for me) times on Friday and Saturday, until the outside of my left front corded and I was relegated to my street wheels/tires... Still managed to run some 2:12-2:14s on street tires...

Missed a great chance for a sign off to black, as I was busy during the first Black session (was in BKS's car) and left before the 2nd black session started...

Mayb e next time!

It was a great w/e wasn't it? Perfect weather (a crap shoot for VIR), fast cars (mostly) and good people.
I drove the wheels off my car and loved every minute of it!

Laura,

I think I met you at the gas pumps. I was in the black 911 Turbo. It was nice to meet you (and your car).

Glad you had a good time, but make sure you keep coming back!

I remember you and your beautiful car with the ducts in the tail for cooling. Great meeting you too Jim. I can't wait for the next event.

I had a great time seeing all of my friends/buds at the track. I wish it could be an every other weekend occurence!

Matt: sounds like you need a more reliable car.

And I need some grip...

Trj,

I was hoping to run with you some more, but we never gridded at the same time again. That one run was great though.

On going issues with the car stiffled the weekend a bit. Big props to Jeff Curtis for suggesting a temporary fix for what I believe to be a problem with the throttle position switch which helped salvage some track time. Car was fine at wide open throttle but cut out or off when you took your foot of the gas to brake.

As always great seeing the normal group of track rats as well as meeting some new ones.
