Mahle Cylinders - Honing problems
FYI
We have expierenced a problem with Mahle 95mm and 100mm cylinders where the honing is at a 5 degree angle, not the normal 60 degree angle. We have contacted Mahle Germany through a contact at Mahle Motorsport here in the US. There is acknowledgement that there is a problem, a recommendation not to run them, but no resolution as of yet. If you order new piston and cylinder sets, please check them and contact your supplier if you find them to be honed incorrectly. I have not used any other bore sizes and have had several other shops I work with check their stock and they have also found 95mm and 100mm with problems.
