Default CART / IRL agee "in principle" What do we think?

This morning's news is that CART & IRL have signed an agreement in principle to merge. What do we make of this?

It will happen and that is good for open wheel...maybe the Indy500 will be worth watching this year. I'm away from my main computer....can you provide any details?

Personally I think this is great! I can't wait to go to the St. Pete Grand Prix.

What do we think? We think Tony screwed this up 10+ years ago.

Itc:

+2.

Perhaps sour grapes on my behalf but for me too little too late.

I'm really pleased about this. Bigger, higher quality fields with a mix of ovals and road courses sounds pretty good to me. Hopefully, not too many of the street circuits will make the cut. The San Jose and Houston motocross courses were pretty tedious to watch on tv. (My apologies to those located there.)

I don't see how this can be anything but good. It may take a few years for the promise of this to be realized though.

No complaints here, those two particular venues were really good for business here They kept me [and our factory] very busy manufacturing racecar parts.

At least San Jose was dead, no matter what happened with consolidation.
