Default Roebling Road 1:18 Video

Besides the fact that I have a HORRIBLE push if I don't enter correctly, what do you think? Looking forward to the Road Atlanta DE this weekend...it's gonna be chilly!

Nice time. But man, it looks like the car was a handful! Were you running R1's?

I'll be at RRR this weekend.

Nice lap, get the handling right on the car and you'll really be flying! How were the tires after the stint? Did you take temps? Any blistering or unusual wear? You were really punishing them.

Car weighs 3333 with me in it and I was running -3.7 camber / 0 toe up front and -2.7 / 0 in the rear. The tires made it through an entire weekend at Road Atlanta and then one full day at Roebling and now the fronts are separating at the outer edge.

Pretty much like you said, "a bunch of sweepers from right to left."

I've heard it referred to as a "Miata" track... but any track is more fun than none!

Its kind of a "rythm" track that once you learn your marks and get the car handling right is relatively high-speed. Lots of double-apex stuff. The track has a fair amount of run-off room, some elevation change a little off-camber here and there and one really scary concrete retaining wall you're almost guaranteed to meet hard if you screw up on that last turn by pit-in. The Georgia Highway Patrol use it a lot for their troopers driver's training. Used to be a relatively impessive "bone-yard" of old trooper cars that got bent somewhere out on track and were just sitting under the pine trees. A few race teams use it for private testing and its one of the big tracks in the SCCA's SE Region, Chin Motorsports, PCA and some of the other car clubs use it for DE and Club racing. Its not much on facilities, there's a restriction on running motors before like 10AM on Sunday and its in the middle of nowhere. Other than that its great. In case you can't tell, not one of my favorite circuits either. Its about the same distance from my house to either Moroso or RR. I'd rather run Moroso, and its not that much better.

Thanks. I haven't been to Roebling in a couple of years, I was at the Peachstate PCA DE at RA in October.

The people who think Roebling is boring are going too slow and haven't worked up the ***** to go fast yet IMO. I've seen it a lot in the past...once someone figures out how to go fast at Roebling, they go from thinking it's boring to loving the track. There's nothing boring about that track...constant trail braking into really high speed turns. Is it like every other track out there? Nope. Is it boring? Not in the least.

If you drive the traditional 'brake in a straight line, turn in and go to throttle' method that is taught in DE and used by a good portion of club racers, I could see the track being boring. If you are literally hanging the car out on the limit of adhesion 80% or more of the way to apex while balancing brake/throttle (it's a great left foot braking track) before picking up the throttle and hanging on all the way to track out, you'll find Roebling to be a blast.

Seriously, for those who think it's boring...find a good instructor and go spend some time at Roebling. The skills you pick up there will make you a lot faster on some key corners at other, less "boring" tracks.

It's too boring to go fast.
