Brake Rotors
This if for the guys with 964's mainly.
I run Alcon slotted front rotors and am happy w/them. What do you guys run on the rear? I'm wanting to go to slotted on the rear also, but am open to suggestions.
What are your thoughts on frozen rotors.
I have big reds and run mainly Pagid Oranges.
Braking is probably the best part of my car and now I get well over a year (about 18-20 events) before I have to replace rotors.
If this is a too much talked about topic, I'll be happy to read any threads you could direct me to.

I run AP racing slotted rotors on the rear with 993RS calipers on my 964. Works nicely, but the tab for the parking brake had to be removed from the trailing arm, so you can't go back. What information are you looking for?

This is pretty much the info I'm looking for. I have an odd make frozen cross drilled rotor on the rear. It did get good life, but I don't think it's available now and I'm hoping to find a more "off the shelf" rotor, peferrably slotted. I would like to keep my e brake, though.
I think the rotor size is stock and the car is 100% racing/DE.

My only contribution would be the cryoed rotors. I tried it at the begining of the yer and have had excellent results with it. The rotors are going to last much longer than stock.
I shipped my factory rotors to a place in Cumming, GA called: http://www.evansperformance.com/home2.html
It was very affordable as well. Something like $25 per rotor.

Interesting. This is who did mine. I too have no complaints. I just may look at slotted this time for even more wear.
Appreciate the info. I had forgotten their names. I'll bet I can call and get my information from them.
Did you buy the rotors from them or do they just cyro treat? I actually had them replaced when my car was in Ga. for other work and don't know the rotor type I have.

If you get slotted rotors, it helps to chamfer the edge with a dremel tool. This keeps the slot from working like a cheese grater on your pads. You'll get longer life out of your pads.

Not trying to open a can of worms, but I've never tried slotted rotors. (I know I don't care to use drilled rotors due to cracking.) I understand the concept of slotted rotors is to vent the gas that may become trapped between the pad and the rotor face. But do they really make a difference in brake performance?

I went from Alcon cross drilled to Alcon slotted w/the same pads. The only difference I saw was rotor life I attributed to the slotted vs. cross drilled (slotted lasting the longer, 1.5 years and still going w/only slight small cracks).

Where did you get your Alcon rotors?
