Siebkens - South / East building is gone.....
:crying: I had no idea it was going to be gone when I turned the corner from Lake Street (neither did the locals in the car with me).
I know I know, "all in the name of progress". It would be a shame to raze the old bar... I stayed at Siebkens one time - that was enough.

I heard the bar stays.

Both buildings on the east side of the alley are scheduled to go down. I'm pretty sure the other building will remain until the most of the new condo's are sold.

It's a small Wisconsin village next to a lake. If you want 5 stars, stay in Chicago. You have Lake Street Cafe & The Paddock Club, leave Siebkens to those of us who like the place. I'm almost afraid to mention The Brown Bear or SAL's. |
