I believe the days of great drivers flogging mediocre cars to the front are over in F1 - it's a narrow tech/spec formula now - both drivers & cars are far closer in capability, races won in the pits, etc. that's why the rain races are so interesting (specialized & differentiating skills & chassis tuning).

I think LH did one better... he beached himself on what I believe is the only sandtrap at the entrance of pitlane that exists on all the F1 tracks in all the world ever.

I didn't believe his race was over until he got out of the car. I was expecting a crane, truck, 200 chinese, whatever to pull him out. I think so many people wanted him stuck, that the collective willpower of the spectators kept him gravitationally glued to the sand. Ron Dennis was obliterated in the Mental tug of war

Heh, that reminds me of Jarno Trulli coming out of the pits at the Canadian GP this year -- drove right into the wall almost right in front of where I was sitting!

BTW in the Finn's defense...he's in Europe for work and away from his computer.

As for the Championship...Go Kimi!!

If not Kimi...Alonso!! Just to throw in McLaren's face...putting the finishing touches on Ron's nightmare season...

That coward! I knew something was up when he lambasted MS by saying he was afraid to race Kimi. Should have known he would leave the country after that crack.

THere is still 1 race left, why all the love in the room? ITC, I don't think A. stands for Alonso. I think it stands for something else.

Hi,
I can't come to the phone right now.

I am currently en route to Interlagos, where I be watching the FIA official who will be watching the McLaren team to make sure everything is equal.
I will also be testing all food and drink given to Fernando.
Please leave a message and I'll return your call when I return.

Beep.................

Thanks.
Long term Cayenne exposure requires a very good sense of humor.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if our friend A. Wayne wasn't in Interlagos this weekend.

GOOD NEWS FOLKS!! STORMS EXPECTED FOR THIS WEEKEND IN BRAZIL www.f1racing.net

On a side note, Ferrari has extended the contract of Felipe Massa to the end of 2010. With Kimi signed through 2009, it looks like our favorite whipping boy will most certainly jump to Renault unless Ron Dennis holds his ***** to the fire.

Hello ITC,
I'm currently in Brazil , The decision to do so came after seeing Pictures of RD sharpening his tool and then giving his word on fair treatment for Alonso @ interlargos. This is a very difficult and emotional assignment for me, at the moment i'm discussing fluid dynamics and how it affects an F1 car with my new friends.

Tell stinky Pete and the rest of the gang Hello for me ....

I see the folks in Brazil subscribe to the twin-keel school of "chassis" design.
