US F1 Fox Tape Delay? Useless...
Fox Sports is not showing the US F1 race until 2pm in the Bay Area. Everyother other nation on earth with a working TV station will be showing it live. But the host country?
Of course not. They'll show baseball - game 3 of a 30000 game season, naturally.

why bid on the event if u can't show it live losers?

I was talking to a senior CBS Sports exec at a t-ball game the other day and was talking to her specifically about this kind of thing (except with ALMS as the prime topic). Short of the very major sporting groups (think NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, NASCAR (ew) and single top sporting events like Wimbledon, US Open golf, etc) the sanctioning bodies buy the airtime. It is not bid on by networks. Thus if Fox has a deal to show MLB, they will show their MLB game that they paid for rather than the F1 race which was undoubtedly purchased by F1.
When a sanctioning body buys airtime, they must justify the cost based on the advertisers they can attract. The network, as part of their airtime fee, may provide a producer and a few other folks and will hire the personalities on behalf of the sanctioning bodies. The personalities might make $2000-3000 for the event. Many times the personalities are not even sent to the event, apparently.

I can gurarantee that Bernie did not pay a dime for the air time. Fox paid for it dearly, if it had gone cheaply, Speed would have shown it. That's why Speed gets the rest, nobody (CBS, NBC, etc) wants to pay for it, and if you don't pay for it, you don't get it.

Fox owns speed. They wouldn't bid against themselves and drive the price up. It would be on Speed if it wasn't in the US at Indy.
I'd bet that Fox is showing it because they had nothing else on that competed with the US Open so they thought that f1 would be a good thing.

Although I do not, in any way, miss the CBS coverage of F1, do you think Fox could spare a few HD cameras for the F1 race.......or are they all reserved for NA$CAR use?
Also, could I please tune in with at least 10 seconds before the lights go out and the race starts?
Also, the number of commericals should never exceed the number of cars on the grid.
