Default HWFM Race Passing

I came out to Miller Motorsports Park for some seat time on the track and had some fun with Skip while there running the an SCCA National race.

While there, Skip and I decided to show fellow HWFM racers how to make a proper HWFM pass....we show 2 distinct techniques and we show how to return the favor...

And that's why these two are held in such high regard by their teammates.

Great guys!

Thanks for posting and glad you had a good time.

Miller is now the closest track to me, if we don't count the Grand Targhee hillclimb (OTEs there are a unique experience) I have to get there.

did you rent the Me Otters?

Miller is a great track and a first class facility. I want to go there as many times as possible.

Skip bought his old car back and I rented one from Hooverspeed who also brought out an MX-5 Cup car for me to test with while there (here actually...as I'm still in SLC). Hooverspeed is the team I'm with for the MX-5 Cup series.

I have a SM and MX-5 Cup race at Miller in September...it's definitely a track where seat time pays big dividends...one day I'll see if I can cash in on those dividends...clearly it was not this weekend...

Nice vid! The rumble strips are slippery.

Glad you guys enjoyed the track.

If any of you are looking for more race time at MMP, come out for the MPRA race series. There are usually at least 4-5 spec miatas in the small bore run group, as well as 3 SCs, a couple of carreras and a couple of 951s (PCA stock cars).

Next race is June 9-10. Here's the season schedule:

http://www.millermotorsportspark.com/schools-mpra.php

There are about 20+ cars in each run group (small bore [under 3.0 l, miata], big bore [over 3.0 l, STC cars], and open wheel). The carreras usually wind up running with us in the small bore group.

Pm me if you want more info.

Also, there is the Air Power Invitational July 12-14, a support race for the NASCAR weekend:

http://www.airpowerracing.com/newpage12.htm

Of course, don't forget the PCA club race Sept 28-30.

Cheers,

Jeff

Excellent! Who does your choreography for you?

Got to love the run-off room...if you keep the wheels under you!

I want to get out to the track sometime soon.
