Can someone tell me what you use to mark on tires? I want to identify my winter tires as RF, RR etc. but whatever piece of chalk I use does not leave much other than a streak. Maybe the tire is to greasy from tire dressing but I'm having a very difficult time locating the correct marking item. Thank you.

White shoe polish should work well or you can simply tie a tag to the wheel or tire.

Crayon or a "grease" pencil works good too.

try a paint-pen on the inside sidewalls....

Go to Lowes or Home Depot and get Carpenter's Crayons. Huge yellow crayons.

Go to your local tire shop and offer the tire buster a buck for tire chalk, mark the tread surface and call it good.

Use a Pentel white out pen on the inside of the tire or the inside of the rim. It can be removed with laquer thinner, etc..
