Trailer question
I'm looking for a small trailer to carry a set of tires and hydraulic jack and some tools etc... I want it to attach to the back of the 996TT. Any suggestions? Any used ones out there? Concerns about trailering the TT?
TIA

I have used a Southsport trailer to tow tires/tools/etc behind my Boxster S. It's a really great trailer (pulls straight and true at 100+ mph!). Southsport is located somewhere in Florida. When I bought mine a couple of years ago, it was something like $800 delivered to Colorado. Some assembly was required (very easy).
This trailer has been advertised in Pano and Excellence in the past. I'm not sure that I've seen it in these mags lately but then again, I may have missed it.

Hi all. I'm the friend with the trailer but have been too busy/lazy to put more info about it onto Rennlist.
Here are some pictures of the trailer. As I'm racing in SCCA now, I don't take the 993 to the track anymore.

Email me at johnhuang@yahoo.com if you're interested. I'm in Northern VA so make sure that logistics make sense.

I got my trailer at Harbor Freight. (www.harborfreight.com) The cost was $220. I had to assemble it but it was pretty easy. It works great to carry tires and misc tools.

Southsport trailers might be undergoing some reorganization. I've called them, and they don't make the hitch for the 996 anymore. John Haas, you're right about Suncoast. I haven't called them yet, but you can get the info from their website's weekly Porsche specials. John Hunag, you have a private e-mail message.

The gadget was not hard to make. I used pipe from Home Depot. There are two pipes sticking up from the ply wood. I attached the pipes with pipe post brackets. I used JB weld to secure the pipes to the brackets. The cross pipe has a T-section on each end to secure the wheels so they don't get stolen. I use a strap across the wheels to hold them down when towing (not shown.)

The real cost of the trailer comes in the 'exceeding 55 mph for an auto with a trailer' tickets.
Especially if you travel long distances to tracks, going that slow can be infuriating.
