Has anyone repaired a Harbour Freight aluminum jack?
After 8 months of ownership, and minimal use, my jack leaks. The warranty is 30 days, so I'm faced with repairing it, or scrapping it. What it does, is upon full extension, it leaks down about an inch and then stabilizes. This is very consistent, but less often, it leaks all the way until the handle reaches its stop. I've tried purging air bubbles, as per the manual, and will next try changing the oil out, but I've had no luck. Any suggestions? Harbour freight sells replacement parts, but I wouldn't know what to buy.
Thanks!

Go to Sears and buy one of theirs for $100 or less. I've had one for 15 years now w/o problems. They often come with a set of small jackstands which are nice, so I bought a second one. They always come in handy.

There should be 2 cup seals in the pump. Sounds like the first one is shot.

@ $169.00 (new catalog price) they're almost disposable! Consider buying a new one. I've had no problems with mine ... you got a lemon. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />
