Anyone racing in f stock? or stock period
Are splitters alowed on stock class cars?
I belive that the rule book says no, but i have seen pics of are at the track with stock class letters and splitters installed.
Also I have seen some 951's with there foglights removed as well. Is this because they are prepaired class cars? Im new to the pca racing and have yet to attend a actual race but hope to in the spring to get my license.
thanks
take a peek at our suspension guys......

Check the updated 2002 rule book on www.pca.org in the Club Racing section. Basically, the body has to remain stock with the exception of bumpers and spoilers. Flares will move you into prepared, and wings (not spoilers) will bump you up if not originally fitted to the car (not special order).
I read this as allowing a splitter, but my advice is to talk to your local tech chairman who may have a different view. I have seen the GT racing spoiler with integral splitter installed on a few F-stock cars. You might call Hank at GT racing and ask him what his customers are using.
I believe that where the rules really get stringent is in HSR/SVRA, where splitters are NOT allowed, because that technology wasn't available in the earlier years- an issue for earlier cars only.
Good Luck

First thing about PCA Club Racing rules. On one first several pages in the rule book it states that if the rules don't say you can do it, don't.
As far as splitters go, I race in E class (in a prepared 84 Carrera). E and F always seem to race in the same race group. There are several F stock Carreras that have front splitters and 3.8 RS tails, so it appears that these are legal modifications within the stock rules. Send an email to Donna Amico (Chief Scrutineer) for clarification. Her email is listed on the PCA website under the club racing section. www.pca.org

If you look carefully at those tails you'll notice the owners have had to modify them so that they are not presenting a separate "wing" profile. Wings are not allowed in F, only spoilers.

However, there are undocumented exceptions, so it pays to ask. For example, on a 911SC you can remove the air conditioning and remain in G stock. The reason is that a/c was optional for several years, and the simplifying assumption was made by PCA that 911SC's didn't have to have a/c, even though it was standard after, I believe, 1981. I asked Tom Charlesworth specifically about this.
If you ask about something, and get a "ruling" you like, print it out and put it in your logbook.

The cars I was referring to have 3.8 tails without the upright extensions. The adjustable standard wings are in place however on the cars that I have seen. They also have non factory front valances and splitters. These are 3.2 Carreras running in F Stock.

bumpers and spoilers are FREE to do as you please in stock classes. The rear wings should have a separate blade like the RSR or Supercup wings. If you run the 2nd blade you either have to remove it or BEND SHAPE aluminum so its continuos and supplies even more downforce that in winged condition.........dont ask its the rules.
