Question Shocks

I am ready to buy shocks for my 89 944S club racer I am building. Was going to get double adj. Koni coil overs and 450#/650# springs. Who has the best deal on strut/shock packages? Kind of like Koni, any other suggestions. Want to buy everything I need to bolt on and want double adjustable. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
This is definately the most important part on the car.
Thanks, Doug <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" />

Try the Wheelsource in Dayton Ohio for Konis.

Steve Schardt knows his stuff on suspension. They have 2 Turbo S cars that handle like go-karts.

Paragon Products has everything you need. That is where I get my parts. Ask for Jason and tell him, Kerry sent you.

For double adjustable fronts you have 3 alternatives:

1) 2817 strut - great strut, very expensive (would me my first choice if money were no object)

2) Single adjustable insert (or used strut) modified to be double adjustable. (no thanks)

3) 8611 insert - the "problem" here is that they don't fit into the stock struts. So, you have to build the housing for them or find someone who does. I am designing some for our SCCA ITS SE-R and will be making some for my SCCA ITS 944 as well. But, they are still on the drawing board.

For the rears, you can go with an off-the-shelf Koni race shock (can't remember the number and I'm out of town so I don't have my references). You will have to buy or make adapters to use them on the 944. Jason @ Paragon may have them already. Don't go for the ones you have to remove to adjust. You'll just end up not adjusting them when you should.

You could also go with the 2812 rear shocks. Jason can set you up with these as well as the 2817s. Again, my first choice if money were no object.

If you are interested in the 8611 insert for the front, I hope to have them available by February or March. Our plan is to have them on the SE-R for my mid-January race.

you could try<a href="http://www.truechoice.com" target="_blank">Truechoice</a>for your shocks, they are a major player regarding Konis
