Post Suede vs. leather steering wheel

Hi All,
I don't like the feel of the stock 4 spoke Porsche steering wheel on my 951 and I'm going to replace it. This is a combination track (DE) and fun weekend street car that I recently bought.

Should I consider a suede steering wheel? I would get a suede for a track only car but this is also a street car so I'm leaning against it. I'd be interested on thoughts on wear and feel without gloves. Initially, I'll be logging more street than track miles.

Thanks,
Mark

You're on track (pun intended). With street driving the suede will lay down very quickly. You'd have to brush it all the time. But you can't beat suede gloves on a suede wheel for racing. Try a leather wheel that's ergonomically shaped. I like the price and looks of the Sparco wheels.
