So, what's your favorite track?

2) Le Mans (the public road sections + sections of the Bugatti Circuit at 4:30am on the Thursday before the 2000 24 Hrs)
3) Laguna Seca and Road Atlanta (big drop from Nbrs 1 and 2)
Visited and Wish I'd Driven:
1) Mosport (Turn 2 must be the most daunting corner in North America)
2) Road America
3) Mid-Ohio
Can't Wait to Visit (North America):
1) Virginia International Raceway
2) Mont Tremblant
3) Nothing else worth mentioning
Can't Wait to Visit (Europe):
1) Spa
2) Monza
3) Targa Florio
Most Beautiful:

Great thread. I'm a novice, and have only been to two tracks and 6 events so far. But I'm glad to know that my "local favorite", Mid-Ohio, keeps coming up . I can't even think of a dream track yet.

Poor Riverside...
My favorites have got to be Laguna Seca and Sears Point. Partly because they're not in the middle of a desert and have more interesting terrain changes.
Willow Springs comes in 4th place. Great power track with the highest speeds, but really kinda boring. Not super-technical, just requires a powerful car.
Streets of Willow Springs takes 3rd place. I like having 13-14 corners within 1.5 miles. Make for all sorts of challenges. You've got a U-turn, off-camber, decreasing/increasing radius, banked, chicances, etc... all on one lap!

Thanks, E.J. I appreciate the kind words. A photographer I worked with in the past told me once, "Books are best for the ego, not for the wallet." Of course, sometimes an ego boost is exactly what is needed.
High resolution pics on the Internet are a double-edged sword. I could charge a fee and make a bit of money, but there would be no effective way for me to control the images once "purchased". Software programs such as Genuine Fractals can be used to increase resolution with minimal loss of quality. Therefore, purchasers could easily create 16x20 prints (or larger) and replicate them as many times as they wish.
If you have some time to waste, here's a link to the root directory for my auto/motorsport pics...

yeah, I miss Riverside, those Esses were a dream. I still have video of that track back in the 80's when I drove my 74 carrera..great track! I also agree with the Streets of Willow, WHile its hard on tires. It is a driver's track. Its very technical and rewards smoothness. Its much more fun than Big willow. Big Willow just requires a lead foot, big engine and some *****. But no real skill to turn a fast lap. I think more people should take SOW more seriously as a competition track and not a schooling track.....

Favorite driven:
1. VIR (North, South or Full Course, it's all good!)
2. Road Atlanta (downhill drop...yeehaa)
3. Charlotte Motor Speedway (converted me into a NASCAR fan...try driving that track for 600 miles...wow!)
Want to drive:
1. Laguna Seca
2. Indianapolis (Either the F1 Course or NASCAR course, hopefully either way I can complete a lap before security catches up with me).
3. Le Mans

I fully agree with your taste in tracks!
Lowes or Charlotte Speedway is awesome. I hit maybe 140 before going into Nascar 3 and it was all I wanted. What a rush. Gave me a whole new respect for what those guys do.
600 miles and at 180-200mph.

Alright, I did forget about LMS. You all should see it from the right seat in Greg Biffles Busch Car... 170 in the turns - 190 on the straights.

Bit late getting to this one, but wanted to throw my $.02 in.
1. Sebring... the history alone is fantastic.
2. VIR, Laguna Seca, Road America
3. Nurnburg Ring.
Tough decision for #1 between Sebring ands Road Atlanta. Both tracks are a lot of fun.

Thanx Bob, now how the hell am I supposed to get any work done? I will get lost in your directory. Maybe just setup a paypal account and use the honor system for donations? Sounds crazy in this day and age. Or set up a members only site and charge a yearly access fee.
You're right about genuine Fractals though. While it's a great tool, it does make large printing piracy too easy.
Thank you for the effort and link. i wish I had your photography talents.

Limited ones I've run so far, but I love Road America. Hope to upgrade from my 158 hp steed as the 3 long straights beg for mucho horsepower. Great place for high speed turns. There's nothing quite as exciting as having to dial in some opposite lock in the kink at 100+ on street tires (once was enough, never making that mistake again).

I'll agree with Bill and Manny, Summit Point is fun. I guess I like it because it was easy to pick up and go fast.
My second pick is VIR, but I need a few more sessions without rain to move faster there.
Next year I hope to add mid-ohio, the glen and LRP to my list.
