As a member of VIR and having been there often I can say with no reservations that it is a crap shoot!

Seriously, our first member days are Feb 17/18. That time is very questionable. On average, it would NOT be a good time to plan a weekend trip there. Of course you could get lucky like we did in Nov. when it was 75 degrees! Do not take that to be the typical Nov. weather either.

My first weekends there are usually the first or second weekend in March and it is usually cool then. You can run and you will probably not see snow or anything, but you will want to drink a lot of coffee or hot chocolate and make sure you have your long underwear!

"Crap shoot" sounds pretty accurate. I'm usually there in March for a couple of events ( BMW Tarheels, Mazda or Zone 2) and as the nice ladies at the Airport Storage always told me , " Ya never know till Ya get here" .

I went to school down that way and in one memorable Feb. week we had a small tornado, a hail storm, snow and I got a sunburn at the end of the week. Crapshoot is the right term.

Who knows, maybe Al Gore is right (not likely) and there'll be a HUGE Global Warming swing between now and then and it'll be 80 degrees

last year, I went to the NASA Event. On Friday, we had a high of 60, and sunny - VERY NICE!
Saturday - SNOW/RAIN/FROZE OUR BUTTS OFF!
Sunday - high 50's Sunny - NICE!

It was the biggest swing in a single weekend I've seen at the track I think...

With all the snow, and no friction, everything goes faster!
