Hoosier Bias Ply on a 911? What's it like?
RL Gang,
Due to some rather strange and varied vintage regulations, I may have to run Hoosier Bias Ply's on my 2000# 911. Has anyone done this? How does it compare to the "feel" when runnign radials?
FWIW, my tire combo's are limited to 205F/225R Kumho V700's or 245F/275R bias ply Hoosiers... Which would you choose?
THanks!

I've got a 993 instead of 996, and I'm not running the stock alignment or suspension... so your mileage IS going to vary
I've used 225/255 f/r Kuhmos for about a year & a half. ROW M030, -1+ front camber, -1.5 rear camber, plus a strut brace.
Car was oversteery, more so that I'd really realized. Tried 225/275 f/r Hoosiers, and it was MUCH better balanced. Was quite happy w. the Hoosiers so far; bought them used & have only done one weekend so far. If I'd not gotten the cheap used price, though, I'd've stuck with Kuhmos or Toyos.

Robert,
Thanks for the reply... So which Hoosiers were these that you were using? (Specific model as I think there are more than 1)
So you are saying that in order to match front and year, you used a narrower front with a 275 rear to get a proper balance...
Can you compare the overall feel of the tire to a Radial comp tire? Greasier? More sidewall flex, less forgiving?
In retrospect, would you have preferred a 205/225 setup on radials, or the 225/275 setup on bias ply
