Default Rennsport Reunion III

Has anybody heard where or when Rennsport Reunion III will be? I believe that Porsche was trying to make it every 3 years or so. That would be April. I had also heard that they were very happy with the way things turned out at Daytona. Are they (we) going back there?

Hope so, and I haven't heard anything. Was a great event, and am looking forward to it. Daytona is about the only place big enough, except Indy, which would also be great.

I was lucky to get to go to the first one at Lime Rock. That was a good time, and hopefully I can get out to another one.

I was under the impression that they wanted to move it around. Lime Rock was an unqualified success, so they did it again at Daytona. My guess would be a West Coast swing this time.

Keep an eye & ear open. I heard they've been looking at West Coast venues. California Raceway seems like the only place large enough, but perhaps the new Miller track in SLC.

Not so sure the place needs to be large. Lime Rock certainly isn't, yet the place has character and made for a charming venue.

Damn, Laguna Seca would be the logical choice.

Chrimony, I might actually have to get my car finished for that!

Yeah, I was thinking Laguna as well, but they've already got a premier vintage event. Why not take it somewhere else? Vegas?

I agree that Rennsport Reunion is the best Porsche event I have ever been to. I would love to see it at Laguna Seca. Just imagine all those 917's going through the corkscrew.
Miller looks like a great place on TV and from what I hear it is a drivers track. What are the accomodations like at Miller? Isn't Tooele in the boonies?
If they kept it out east, Barber would be a great place.

I can still see exactly that from being there in 1972, with Follmer finishing just ahead of Donohue in the Laguna Seca race. Then down to Riverside two weeks later to watch them go at it again, with Revson splitting up the fight and finishing second to Follmer's 1st, with Donohue 3rd. We made every event of the series the next year year.

OK settled....Laguna it is!

How about the unofficial "first" reunion... the Double 50 at the Glen... SICK. We're hoping it is at Laguna, would be a great excuse to go West.

I would love to see it at Indy with a race on the F1 course. Indy is doable as far as a tow. Laguna would mean 3 plane tickets and leave the Porsche at home.

I had heard at RRII that the next one would be closer to the West Coast.
