E brake de-activated (also posted on 993 forum)
My 1995 993 track car emergency brake works in the sense that when I pull it up, it engages the brake, BUT I cannot leave the brake engaged (handle does not stay up/no ratchet action). I believe PO did this on purpose, rather than that something broke or fell off.
I would like to make the e brake ratchet action functional again; can anyone suggest what might have been changed/removed/deactivated?
TIA - I would feel a lot better with a functional e brake.
Also - what would be the benefit of deactivating the e brake ratchet?
