Not to hi-jack a thread, but I'm also looking for one for a 944 with a Momo adapter and Momo steering wheel.

I have been also thinhking of getting one, but there are a few things im unsure about.
for one the quality of the unit and its capability of NOT comming off inadvertently. the other thing that makes me hesitate is the additional distance added to the momo adaptor. IM a real stickler as to my driving position. I was wondering if one could compress the MOMO adaptor to make up the difference and not sacrifice its entegrity,

Had anyone attempted something of the sort ?

I bought a factory PMNA GT3 quick release hub (zero play) and a billet machined steering column adapter (model specific) last year.
This setup does NOT move the wheel closer to you (I run a GT3 factory Cup wheel, from Gert at Carnewal, which is the same as a Momo 07 IIRC).

I've used the Smart Racing quick release for 5 years. It will not come off inadvertently if you put it on right (i.e. pull up on the ring as you put it on). While it does have some play while at rest, I've never noticed it while driving (either on the street or track). It does bring the wheel a bit closer to the driver, but that was a good thing in my 911.

I did modifiy a momo hub adapter to be shorter while trying to find where I wanted the steering wheel, but I never used it in the end. This adapter is a crumple zone for the steering column, so I stayed with the stock one. It makes getting in and out of the car a lot easier if you have a cage/race seat.

I use the TecniQ hub that is available from Paragon: Click here .

It has absolutely no play and doesn't move the wheel much closer to you. I've had it for a bit more than a year and am very happy with it.

Thanks for the info guys, I understood that the MOMO adaptor acted as a crumple zone, Since I still have the factory steering column which also has a crumple zone in it, I may just try and compress the MOMO hub. now All i need is a press to do it squarly

I got mine from Boxer Motorsports. It works well and the price was right.

I installed the same system that Rick mentioned and it works really well with no play in the wheel.

I purchased mine through TC Racing (advertising in PCA Club Racing newsletter; www.tcracing.org).
The owners race a 944T and were knowledgable about the fitment (I needed a lot of extension to fit my long legs).

I also use the Tekniq (or however it's spelled) hub. It's a really inexpensive piece, but I haven't seen any other quick-release (factory or otherwise) that I like more. I'd avoid the locking one.

I got my from George Roffe for my 944 and it works fine. There aren't a lot out there for 44's. Mine hooks up right to my Momo wheel with no need for an adapter. Here's his website:
