I would also like to see some pictures or a good description of how the sunroof was stripped & secured. My Momo seats are basically sitting on the floor but at 6'5'' I could use a little more space up top. I've added this to my list of winter projects.

I guess I'm more long legged, and my torso's more of the average length!

Sorry, I didn't mean to belittle the problem...

Can you change the rake of your seatback to help with your height? The sunroof mods will only give you so much clearence.

Yes, you can change the rake, but I prefered to modify the floor pan (i.e., cutting notches out of the support ridge below the seat and then reinforcing to make up for the weakness introduced by cutting the support ridge), drop the seat as low as possible, and take advantage of the extra space provided by removing the ceiling than introducing rake that sacrifices optimum driving position. I am generally happy with my current seating position, apart from the position of the side roll cage.

i think adjusting the rake is the key for the taller people, but my seats don't have that capability (they are bottom mount and bolted directly to the floor). side mounts have that capability

Chip;
Just scrunch over some - it will help to slow you down so some of us can catch you <G>.

I need to remove my sunroof and replace with aluminum or lexan panel too. Can any of you guys either post more detailed pictures of your car with this modification or send an e-mail?

Thanks in advance,

I'm over 6'-4" tall so I went a little further in solving the problem. My Sparco seat is on the floor so nowhere to go but up.

I found a 924 in a wrecking yard and purchased the roof for $100. They cut it off in the middle of the A, B and C pillars. I used a spot weld cutter to remove both the old and new roofs at the seams and welded the new roof in place. The 924 roof has no cross-bracing and no corner braces like the 951 roof. It was a little bit of work but was well worth it. The new roof must weigh half of the 951 roof. I'd do it again.

I have a Sparco Evo with their side mounts. I am 6'3 and with the right rake on the seat I am ok with clearance. With that said, my roof is being "filled" this weekend. I believe the shop is going to weld in a panel but I also like the inside clips idea.
