For Sale: Cool Vest Deluxe
If any one is interested, I'm selling a nearly new (used 5-6 times) Cool Vest Deluxe with 2 complete sets of cool packs for less than 1/2 retail including ground shipping in the continental US. See my ad (FS: Cool Vest Deluxe) if interested.

Kim,
How did you like the coolvest? I've been considering one of these since it could serve double duty; for DEs and offroad motorcycle racing.

SOLD!
Tim - It worked well for DE's, especially having 2 sets of cool packs, one would re-freeze while I used the other. They lasted about 30 minutes in +100 degree temps. Sitting on grid, you notice the bulkiness, but once you get going, you don't feel it at all. You might want to look at the smaller one they sell if you want to use it on a motorcycle.

Yea, I've had my eye on the motosports (smaller) version for awhile now. Given that I have a few DEs this summer, and the heat and humidity is not very kind here in the SE, I guess I'll order one. I'm surprised that they only last 30 minutes, that's much less than the website would lead you to believe.

It probably depends on ambient temps. The ones on my back were mostly melted in 30 minutes, the ones in the front were maybe 50% gone and were less and less effective. Sometimes they lasted longer, but I never thought they'd last an hour or anything like that.
I'd also guess that there 2-2.5 hr @ 125 deg estimate isn't while wearing it inside of a race car squished between your body and seat in 100 deg ambient temps....I wonder how hot it is in the car when it's 100 deg outside?.....

With the outside temp at 92 I got through a 90 minute enduro and was still comfortable at the end.
