Default Rear of the Ferrari F40

Can't determine the appropriate forum for my inquiry, and this seemed closest.

What exactly is the purpose of the rear louvers on the Ferrari F40? air escape? from? I've only seen it in pictures and I could never tell if any air was routed cleanly to the clear louvered hatch

TIA

I would try Ferrarichat or 6speedonline.

I've always wanted to know how any air would make it through the intercoolers. They are just sitting there in mid air above the motor.

What is the purpose of a gold chain or chest hair wig?

The rear engine lid, which is Plexiglass, is chamfered to all heat to escape and fresh air to enter the engine bay; there are also ducts that lead from openings on the rear 1/4 panel, directed at the i/c.

The reason for my question was to figure out the best airflow through or around a car from the middle to the rear. It seems that the Porsche 911's rely on air entering the rear from the top down. Any resistance would double as downforce. But the Ferraris rely on air entering the midsection and entering the top rear, except for some that have air exiting through the rear

I wonder what the Lamborghini Countach, Ford GT or Detomaso Pantera concepts are. Enter and escape from top rear? under and through (downforce and air brakes caused by IC/radiator fins), or over and through (upforce force and air brakes caused by air scoop). Hope this makes sense.

Here are some pictures, could you circle the parts you're curious about as it's Friday I'm having trouble picturing anything other than a tall cold one.

Here's the rear...

Here's a side rear shot, if you're talking about the gills at the base of the wing, those are there to feed the air-intakes.

Check it out...

My last question, are you talking aerodynamic considerations or heat exchange?
