Default Mid Ohio 4/29-5/1 Places to Stay/Rennlisters Going?

Heading to the Mid Ohio DE with the Potomac reagion the weekend of April 30th. This will be my first time running with Potomac and first time at Mid Ohio. Wondering about a good place to stay (preferably were there are other drivers) and who from the list will be there. Thanks.

The Comfort and Ramada Inns at the intersection of SR-97 and I-71 are the unofficial headquarters and will be filled with track junkies (as will the other hotels nearby).

I'll be there, though staying in Mansfield (just north of the track). Silver 951 #301.

You'll love Mid-Ohio if you like technical tracks. After your first 'get acquainted with the track' day, find someone with a lot of Mid-Ohio experience and jump in the passenger seat with them.

Like Jerome said, the Comfort Inn and Ramada (Accross the street from each other) are the nicest hotels in the area...by a long-shot. Unless you do a B&B, that is. They are about 15-20 minutes away from the track. There is also a bar across the field from the Comfort Inn and accross the street from the Ramada. Here are their phone numbers:

Ramada Belleville - 419-886-7000
Comfort Inn Belleville - 419-886-4000

Ask for the Porsche Block of rooms. Hopefully they are not sold out. BTW, I think my rate was $75-80 a night.

Stop by my garage to say "Hi."

BTW - The Ramada is now called the Quality Inn. Same building & phone just different name.
It is probably the nicest in that area..

Look in Ontario also. Just a few minutes outside Lexington. There are several hotels there like Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn also some chain type restaurants and some shopping. Also at the next exit up on 1-71 there are several more hotels. Baymont Inn is one that stands out in my mind. Holiday Inn in downtown Mansfield is decent within walking distance to Rocky's (best restaurant in the area) is a big plus, IMO.

Do a search on expedia and you may find better/cheaper rates than those at the Quality/Comfort Inn.

Does Rocky's require reservations? I'm bringing my wife (mother of 3) and my mother to the track for the NNJR event, which is held over Mother's Day weekend. I'm looking for a good place to take them to dinner.

Scott,
That sounds great, I am heading to Hershey via Princeton for the weekend. I'll pm you and maybe we could work out a caravan. Glad to see you and your brother will be there! I am getting pumped!

Thanks to everyone for the recomendations. Noel and Jerome, expect a visit.

Thanks again.

Don't know about Rocky's, but there's a Dutch Inn at the same place as the Quality Inn/Ramada. A family place with good food, large helpings or buffet style, perfect for a couple with mom-in-law plus 3 kids. No reservations, but the place is huge and there's a large gift shop for mothers/wives to browse in while waiting.

There's a bed a breakfast that's on a dirt road very close to the track. White Horse, I believe is the name of the place. That's where we had a dinner banquet at one of the Tracquest events. Excellent food, cozy ambiance, though it was a little too cozy with several dozen car nuts in varying degrees of inebriation during the banquet.

I'll be there in a ratty red 944 (named "RatDog"). As a "local", I'll second all of the recomendations above- can't go wrong. Look me up in the paddock, stop bye & say Hi.
And I just looked at the schedule - I was assuming a standard Saturday-Sunday schedule. This thing is three days! WhooHoo - takin' Friday off.
