Anyone going to the Grand Prix of Atlanta?
I'll be there on Friday, Saturday afternoon, and Sunday. I'm going to Auburn, AL after hanging out on Saturday, then I'm going to try to make it back for the WC race on Sunday morning (after getting about 3 hours of sleep probably). Let me know if you are going... I'll probably park in the Porsche area if they still have that. I can't wait!

Cool, Mike! What are you expecting with qualifying and race results? Good luck with it. If a red-headed kid walks by and says hey, it's me. Looks like you are associated with a wonderful team.

Mike, we will be making the trek from Calif. for the GT3 Cup Challenge. We will be bringing
#17 Swartzbaugh. I talked to Martini last night, he'll be there also. There seems to be some stiff competition !

Hi,
Looks like 26 cars registered, same amount as will be racing in the ALMS race but half as many as we had last weekend at the PCA race (that was insane!).
Drivers from all over the world are entered, looks like a few may be possible "ringers" so they are allowed to race on a race-by-race basis in case they are too fast for this amateur race class.
I just want to keep my car off the walls and see if I can break a 1:30 by Sunday. Will take it slowly the 1st few sessions to try to feel out the car better before I go for fast laps again.
Hope for good weather (not too hot, I still have windows in my car!).

I believe that the current plan is to limit the IMSA Cup races to 35 cars, including next year when, in a separate class, it will include Type 997 Cup Cars.
P.S. I expect to be at the track from Friday through Sunday and can generally be found via the PMNA truck.

BTT, I'll be there tomorrow after about 1:00. Hopefully the Friday crowd will be relatively small, so I'll get to see some cars up close and personal.

Does anyone know if Jim Ellis has their usual spot there? Are they doing the free ticket/parking pass thing?
I always get Petit LeMans tickets from them (yes I am cheap) And they have $128K of my money.

I had a great time today in the Paddock - I got to meet Robert Linton and he took me for a mini tour of the teams. Here's some of his work:

I also got to see Matthew Forte from MotorWerks Racing outside of Atlanta. He crews for Alex Job Racing in his spare time...
