Agreed.

Honkity Hank 03-07-2005 11:07 AM

Agreed on no changes, but should there not be a way to make trades at some point in the season?

wombat7 03-07-2005 02:26 PM

What do you mean by trades?? This is the first time I've ever ran this league so any suggestions you have to make it better would be great.

Honkity Hank 03-07-2005 04:00 PM

I am thinking that there might be a way to trade parts of your team with either other players or back into the overall pool. Typically this means that the relative value of each a driver for example may change as the year progresses. For example if a Renault chassis was worth 8mm at the beginning of the year it may be worth 9mm now. So if you wanted to trade a BAR chassis tha is worth say 3mm for Renault you will have to come up with the difference of 6mm. It all can get rather complicated and requires someone to keep track of the values and approve the trades. You could also have the commisioner approve all trades so it I wanted to trade one of my 1mm drivers for Reubens you could veto the trade.

Typically the number of trades is limited so it does not get out of hand. This way if you loose a driver to injury or he gets fired for some reason you can find a way to replace him.

wombat7 03-07-2005 06:07 PM

I kinda like that idea... what does everyone else think??

dgz924s 03-08-2005 09:54 AM

I want more money!;)

Jarez Mifkin 03-08-2005 11:49 AM

I'm 3rd.....I'm not changing anything!!!! :jumper:

dgz924s 03-20-2005 09:56 AM

Bump.....New standings?

Honkity Hank 03-20-2005 10:54 AM

I can wait to see them for another couple of weeks :banghead: I hitched my wagon to Ferrari, i hope the 2005 car is as good as they are claiming.

wombat7 03-21-2005 01:26 PM

Here are the new standings....

1. runnin' on empty - 38

Sorry it took me so long... i've been swamped with homework. 13 Circuit design problems kicked my a$$.. looks like those of you who put all your faith in Ferrari might wanna start getting scared ;) lol... we'll see what happens when the F2005 gets on the track. Hopefully someone starts catching Renault or runnin' on empty is gonna start runnin' away with the league...

Honkity Hank 03-21-2005 01:58 PM

Not only Ferrari for me but Honda as well. I am not doing any better in the NCAA tourney either. As an aside, the race was pretty interesting with a few bits of real racing, unfortunately it did not involve any Red cars.

Jarez Mifkin 03-21-2005 03:42 PM

Still 3rd....woo hoo!!!

Dale Gribble 03-21-2005 04:21 PM

damn..i totally forgot about this. YAY! RENAULT! YAY TOYOTA!

wombat7 04-01-2005 08:39 AM

Hey guys... just thought I would let you know. There will not be an update for a while after this race. I'm going to Italy for 10 days and leave tomorrow so I will not have access to my spreadsheet.

Sorry!! I hope you all can wait ;)

runnin' on empty 05-05-2005 12:14 PM

Hello Wombat7:

Now that BAR has been excluded from the San Marino race results and the upcoming races in Spain & Monaco,
we need to see a revised points standings; if you please. :icon107:

Honkity Hank 05-05-2005 12:57 PM

The news keeps getting worse for me. FIrst Ferrari can't get their 05 car working, Bridgstones would nto last a race, and now my engine mfr, Honda, is excluded and suspended.

I am toast.

wombat7 05-05-2005 02:06 PM

I will get that up ASAP

wombat7 05-05-2005 02:18 PM

These are updated from the revised San Marino results from formula1.com. As you can see, everything changed drastcially

wombat7 05-05-2005 02:24 PM

I have a question for you guys... since this is my first year running the league I am open to suggestions on how it should be run. As stated at the beginning of the league, you get bonus points if you get the pole or fastest lap. To date, I've only been giving those as driver points and not as manufacturer points. If the consensus is to give driver, engine, and chasis points for the pole and fast lap I will change and update the standings...

wombat7 05-08-2005 11:13 PM

1. wombat7 - 109
2. penguinking - 92
3. runnin' on empty - 90
4. jmorris3 - 90

9. Honkity Hank - 19

Jarez Mifkin 05-09-2005 07:04 PM

19 back...losing ground....but still in 4th!

wombat7 05-09-2005 08:14 PM

Spain was VERY good for me and help give me some distance from 2nd after falling to 2nd place after all the controversy in Imola.

wombat7 05-09-2005 08:15 PM

and actually my score is 111... i forgot to add the bonus points for the pole...

wombat7 05-22-2005 03:50 PM

1. wombat7 - 146

lol..damn you wombat! the fix is in!

Jarez Mifkin 05-23-2005 01:27 PM

Lost a bit to the leader, but I'm right behind 2nd...watch out PK!

wombat7 05-23-2005 04:36 PM

hahah I will send you the spreadsheet if you want to keep me honest ;) but seriously, that's the way it worked out... Kimi is tearing **** up for me, as is the McLaren chasis and Toyota engine... Now only if I could get Webber to race and not screw things up all the time. I checked back at the site that runs the official league and I'm top 10 in that.... who would've thought...

Hopefully Kimi can keep his dominance in Germany....

Honkity Hank 05-25-2005 10:09 PM

I'm only a 124 back, plenty of races left to recover. i feel like the black knight in Monty Python's Holy Grail, never give in even if it is totally hopeless.

Clearly I just didn't want to quash everyone too early and ruin all the fun.

runnin' on empty 05-27-2005 10:53 PM

Can you believe it? The FIA is interested in what we spectators of F1 actually think of the sport and even have a survey on their website to gauge our thoughts. Here is the link:

http://www.fia-amd-survey2005.com/

Apologies for the post hijack, but I thought that if anybody on Rennlist would be interested in this it would be you all. May as well log in and give them our 2 euros worth of advice.

38D 05-29-2005 11:03 AM

Man that was a great race

wombat7 05-30-2005 02:03 AM

Now if I can arrange to have only the Bridgestone team compete the rest of the year, I just may win!

penguinking 06-20-2005 12:37 AM

sheesh! wombat how'd you get so many points after the USGP if kimi/mclaren are your picks? lol

wombat7 06-20-2005 12:43 AM

I have toyota engines and the jordans both run toyota engines... as well as the USGP was my bonus GP meaning I get double points

Honkity Hank 06-20-2005 09:44 AM

That race was a total embarassment for FIA, those that went to the race should be refunded their money and reimbursed for travel to set it right. FOr a series that is supposed to be the pinnacle of motorsports it is especially disapointing.

A slap in face of any race fan to call that a race, it was a 70 lap parade not a race. For F1 to come to a track unprepared to put on a real race and trot out that is disgraceful.

Jeff
