Battery Booster Box
Hi All,
I'm looking for a durable battery booster box. I have two anti-gravity small charge packs but over time their ability to hold a charge has greatly diminished.
The size doesn't matter as it is going to stay in the bed of my support vehicle.
TIA

There seems to be one company that makes all of these similar looking jump boxes. I have one which I use all the time. When I haven't driven one of my old cars in a while, and don't want ot get stuck somewhere, I throw this in the trunk.

If your FM car is a "total loss" (no alternator), or even a small alternator unit like mine, I suggest you stay away from lithium. The Battery Management System (BMS) in the Li batteries typically tries to protect the battery, and does not work well when a deep cycle is required. Also, in our experience, the jump battery should ideally be the same type battery as the on-board battery, so that the voltages are close to equal when plugged in parallel.
So, after several trials and failures, the most reliable set-up I have found is an Odyssey gel cell on-board, and the same as a jumper battery. Harbor freight sells some good size 50 cal. size plastic ammo boxes with handles that is a good fit for carrying the jump battery.
There is some more recent discussion on this over at ApexSpeed.

My FM does have a normal size alternator and I use good old lawn tractor batteries in them. Plenty of juice to turn the rotary.

Thanks Doug. The battery I'm having issues with is actually in my 1974 Mazda pickup support vehicle! That and my vintage cars sometimes need some help.
