Default Find helmet in Indy???

I am getting my stuff together for my first DE. I need to purchase a helmet and I would like to try some on instead of buying off of web.

Could someone point me to a good shop in Indianapolis, preferably closer to the Northside?

Thanks,
Max

Max,

The only place I've found locally is Speedway Teamwear down near the Speedway; they carry Bell & Simpson helmets, gloves, etc. and make their own suits. They guy there is really nice and great to talk to. Phone & address is: (317) 247-0505 4601 W 16th St. They're on the south end of the track on 16th Street.

What DE are you going to?

Best of luck to you,

Rick

Thanks for the tip. I will check them out. I am going to the CIR PCA Spring Brake at Putnam Park. Will you be there?

I'll be there; if you want to hook up for a beer before then let me know - I'll be glad to share some of what I've learned from others in getting ready for a DE.

Here's an idea: Go look at motorcycle helmets and then get the SA2000 version of one that fits over the web. Or I'd bet the shop would order it for you.

From what I see most manufacturers make the same basic design in both M2000 and SA2000 approvals.

Thanks for the help guys. I might swing by the Harley shop near me or just head down to the speedway. Do you guys recommend open face or closed face?

Rick- We should grab a beer. I am quite busy between now and the DE, but I will shoot you a PM.

Thanks,
Max
