After Mr. Mustang blew the braking zone and left the track, what could he have done to avoid contact with the GT3? As a teaching moment, I'd like to read some of the responses. Thank you.

No, it was a brain fart, that's not a mechanical. Same peak G-force.
If you've ever been there, there is a lot of self preservation that kicks in on that braking zone...you have to not be concentrating, and actively thinking about something else that overpowers your subconscious, because it's VERY hard to miss it and the voice screaming in your head.

I think his only hope was to recognize the error earlier and get the car pointed way left way earlier and hope that he can shed enough speed there to be able to control it once it leaves the track there.

5. Those bouncy things that Speed Racer had on the Mach 5
6. Yelled "BONSAI!"
Other than these six things I am not sure what he could have done. He was a passenger on the Red Mist Express making all GT3 stops!

I agree. I’ve pushed my limits there, and made some sloppy turn-ins as a result, but we are talking pushing the braking point by 20 feet, not 200. He didn’t stand a chance going that deep in that car. Maybe with F1 style aero....

You can self select for that. The problem I have with life in general is others imposing their views to control my actions. I rather see education for smoking not making smoking illegal.

So for me this is akin to the "I had to lay it down" comment on a bike... First rule is you will always (outside of a wall stopping you) slow quicker with all of your wheels on pavement and brakes applied. So why not use ALL the available pavement which would have left him braking uphill under high compression. If you are normally braking at the 2 and brake at the 1 and blow it the distance from first Apex to Outside curbing on the other side is probably almost equidistant to another full brake marker. Even if he didn't make the corner had he just stood on it in a straight line he probably would have gone off the top of the hill at 30-40mph... At that speed it is much more controllable to come down the backside of the hill on a slight angle towards hogpen. You also maintain control of the vehicle until the last possible moment. Who knows perhaps you even come to a complete stop right after the corner or manage something miraculous but at least maintain positive control and use productive inputs until they aren't available anymore...
