Default Toyota qualifying crash at Le Mans

So this was incredibly interesting from my perspective from so many different aspects. First it is amazing that with that carnage I think both cars were back out within 30 minutes. More importantly was who got penalized!
Looking at that I would think unsafe track re-entry EVERY time. Lets not go down the F1 road but talk about it at the Club level. Race control looked at the incident and penalized the Toyota. Reason being they did not adequately slow AND be prepared to stop under a double yellow. I was blown away when I heard that and then I started to think about every PCA club race flag meeting and the emphasis placed on adhering to yellow flags. I just don't think I have ever seen it applied at the pro level to that extent. Race direction made it clear with the new yellow procedures there would be zero tolerance and they are sticking to it which is actually great to see! The more it is enforced at the pro level the more it trickles down to us...

Hell, we're still having fun with torque vs horsepower.

My take is that spun car rejoined the track unsafely and should have waited for signal.
The Toyota doesn’t look like it’s driving at race speed. It’s like some aloof teenager pulled out right in front of someone at an intersection.

Good luck with that.

And the re-entering car was at fault.
