Started reading it this morning. Starts off sad.

Seems relatable though. This is Snowfie.

My little guy used to love driving in my convertible.

I have read the book and liked but it was a hard read given that our German Shepherd Dog was named Enzo as well. He came named that way; people always asked me if I named him since I am Italian and into cars. I would say no, just luck...LOL.
My wife read the book and loved it even though she is not into cars and racing as much. We had to put our GSD to sleep last year and we still miss him. It seems not fair that they live so short of lives...
I recommend the book to both car folks and dog lovers.

They definitely seem to be from the same family!!

That first pic is pretty much my view in the mirror any time I've got the back window open in the Jeep. The pic of her in the wind was when the doors were off so her box is in the middle. Normally she's in that padded box with a strap right behind my seat so she can have her head out the window just like that.

F’n dog.

I can’t even see the words to finish the book and people on the train here probably think I’m going through some sort of life trauma.

I hate you guys.

I have always found this to be the best quote about dogs:

“If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went.”

Saw the movie on the opening night (tonight) with my wife and daughter. Very slightly different (adapted) from the book but I loved it. Thought it was very well done. I hope it does well but there were only four other people in the theater tonight. There was a long list of recognizable pro drivers who did the stunt driving in the credits at the end. We have our own Enzo, golden retriever who we got as a puppy 10 years ago right after I had read the book. We also have Schumi, our longhair dachshund, who is 8 years old.

Glad you liked it. I read a review in the WSJ yesterday and it was not positive. The main complaint was that the dog as a narrator in the book works but a dog as a narrator in the movie didn't. Hopefully that is just his opinion because I enjoyed the book and would like to enjoy the movie.

Saw it last night, charity preview with a full screening room of racers. Of course, this IS the Motor City.

I thought it worked just fine. Don't think I could watch it again, any more than I could read it again, but... yeah.

I'm reading between the lines on this one and thinking I should skip it. Some people like the emotional nose-dive. I'm not someone that goes looking for it.

This review from Rotten Tomatoes tells me everything I need to know: "A film aimed with lethal efficiency at your tear-ducts like Chuck Norris putting his boot into your kidneys."

Is the car stuff good?
