Default Mid Ohio facility improvements

I was at Mid Ohio over the weekend and experienced the new bathroom/shower facilities. Very nice. No more prison showers. Men's side is 4 times bigger than before.

For track facilities, I give them 4.5 stars out of 5. Unfortunately for every other track, I have been to Barber wherein believe the bar is set very high and rates a 5.

Gonna be there for the first time for a 3 day DE and Club Race (NNJR/Mid-O PCA) May 17-19.

Looking forward to the new facilities you mentioned, and of course, the track itself.

Do they have a concession stand/area at the track for food and beverage or is it pretty much BYO?

Thanks...

Concession stand. Food is pretty good. Especially for a track. It's a lunch time thing though. They'll maybe have coffee and muffins or such at registration. Cant promise that though.

By that he means 2/3 of the time it's edible.

Any chance you know which 1/3 I should avoid?

I hope they also upgraded the restroom facilities at the end of the garages by the timing tower.

Wishful thinking. They were out of paper towels by Friday afternoon. I nearly fell off the ****ter because it's not bolted in.

Don't worry, there's no shortage of ice cold water to wash up with.

I was at Mid-Ohio last week for a mid-week DE. The weekend prior M-O hosted a Rallycross on the grounds utilizing parts of the grounds and parts of the track. The Keyhole and Keyhole exit were covered in dirt and not acceptable for track driving. That whole area was a mess, not to mention the beautiful grounds of the track in that area was a torn-up muddy mess. They did make an effort to clean up the track during a lunch break, but it should have been cleaned up before our PCA event. If M-O is going to host that kind of nonsense, they could at least make sure the track is cleaned up.
Very disappointing.
(and the restrooms at the end of the garages are still sub-standard).

Yes, the exact same situation occurred when I was there in late May with NASA--was told at the driver's meeting that the track had been cleaned up but the first pass through the Keyhole was a real adventure as it was a dirty, muddy, stony mess. It cleaned itself up during the morning and the crews finished up at lunch.

Mid-O with mud racing, WGI with planned concerts that don't happen and circuses (!)--what the hell's going on?! Yeah, the almighty dollar is what's going on.
