It'll be interesting to see where final overall numbers come in.

Move enduro to Saturday and make it 90 minutes. Yes, that ship has sailed.
Will be interesting to see if you can get a show of hands at Glen driver meeting for 60 and 90 minutes.

Fumes and I got a chance to speak with Mike Bryan, Zone 1 Rep., at the LRP race, regarding the 90 minute versus 60 minute enduro debate.
Mike appeared to agree in principal that a vote at the enduro driver's meeting would be a good thing to do. Once Fumes released him from a headlock he thanked us and ran away. Just kidding - we were very nice.
On a side note, Mike handed out all the awards for the LRP race, and with his British accent (I guess British), it made everything sound so much more official. Too many years of watching F1 I guess!

lowest car count since ??
ouch.
#bringBackTheEnduro
though attendance sadly steadily declining anyways.
perhaps enduro may not be having an impact on overall attendance (but has increased internet gripes by enduro-lovers measurably)

"Maybe" the racers have spoken, but the need for Volunteers seems to fade into the background of this "what's in it for me" discussion thread. A Race Chair can't just walk into ManPower and recruit volunteers. As was pointed our already, the Chair explained the reason for the change. Acting like this is a for profit enterprise and all that matters is the racers is very short sighted. Without an army of volunteers, no one goes racing. Many "big" PCA hosted Race venues are in decline for racer attendance as have been the 2nd tier tracks for the past 5+ years, or dropping the venue altogether. This 4yr historical data can be interrupted many ways, the length of an enduro is just one factor. Share your opinions and preferences with the Chair, but try an remember you are not the only factor. And I will add, many other venues long ago added a DE run group (or two) to supplement the decline in racer attendance (long before an endure time was changed at WGI), and a PCA DE brings many positives more than offsetting the loss of a race run group. So be careful not to cut off ones nose to spite ones face. Once an Advanced DE is in the run group weekend mix, it will be hard to allocate back the run group to racers "once the people have spoken".
Remember, we are all in this together. Life is short, now go have fun and be safe out there!

I've spent a lot of time, and so have others, having multiple conversations with the race chair to find what is best. Accordingly, it's not "what's in it for me" or I want it my way.
What is short sighted is not understanding that you need enough racers to pay the expenses of the day so that if you don't have enough the race becomes unprofitable and goes away. Car count is important.
We are searching for a middle ground - not necessarily I want it my way. As someone who has volunteered for races before I started racing I understand what the volunteers do. As someone who races I understand how important they are. No lectures needed to understand the issues. I'm greatly appreciative for all volunteers.

I think car counts are down in general except for a few spec classes. I don't see the excitement for the track with younger people. Racing in general is having lighter counts everywhere.
