I watched him go through 3-4-5 in the night practice on Thursday. He carried so much more speed than anyone else. Others powered into T4, coasted while the car rotated, then powered out of T5. Alonso just lightly feathered the power thru T4, then got Full Cowboy in T5. Notice in the video how he goes deeper under braking, turns in slightly later, then gets to FULL POWER without hesitation. Truly a talent.

Seriously, the level of commitment is remarkable. Granted the car is phenomenal, but he pushes the pedal and turns the wheel.
