Shipping car and “extra parts”
What do people do when you buy an out of state car and it has extra parts, including 3 sets of wheels. Transporter won’t haul them, will they? Option is to fly up, rent a truck and car trailer and drive 13 hours home. Or just keep, looking waiting for a closer specimen.

I paid $200 more for 2 sets of wheels, few boxes and front bumper.

UShip.com, make it part of quote request. Check with racers heading to PCA Club Race at Road Atlanta from the area/region the car/gear is in, many may have extra space to "rent" to underwrite their haul expense to the race in mid April.

It also can depend on what form of transport you are getting. When I had my car shipped via enclosed trailer, the driver was driving straight through (no risk of theft) and put the spare wheels in the bed of his pick up.

If you can't do that costs about $200 to ship a set of wheels and tires UPS - do it in bundles of 2 tires to reduce cost. The bumper is a pain due to size, I usually ship those with Greyhound but finding a box can be challenging.

I've had the ability to ship extra wheels and parts as long as it's disclosed upfront and additional fee agreed on. I've always used enclosed and confirmed company, driver and my items are insured via copy of insurance and my calling to verify.

I used Intercity to haul a 240Z from WI to MA. The car came with two boxes of parts and a set of extra wheels (and a model car 240Z). I simply told Intercity about the extras and it was no problem for them to transport. I should add that I don't recall the charge for this (if any).

You can also look for a LTL (less than truck load) freight hauler. It takes forever but it is cheap.
