Default Porsche Parts - discount for motorsport use?

Is there a Porsche program that allows discounted pricing for parts used in Porsche vehicles involved in sanctioned motorsport events.

As a general rule I have paid wholesale rates in the past for non-consumable parts - e.g. panels, suspension components caused by the usual carnage.

Just spit my coffee. It's called double the price of what you pay at the counter.

Ok, well I feel for you and your coffee as I get most stuff at wholesale already (had two rebuilds on this basis including celete) - I was just looking at official pricing to lock in a programme and to see what the regional variation was. (rather than have a negotiation every so often).

My experience: Porsche parts are 2x VW parts, Porsche motoraports parts are 2x Porsche parts.

I'd love to find a race program, but the best I've found is to get to know the local dealer, so he knows me and gives me a frequent flyer discount.

Sounds about right - thats where I get my wholesale pricing from. Perhaps I'm on to a good thing

Porsche motorsports discount is just give them your routing and account #s and go sit in a corner cry softly and think about what you’ve done.

Porsche loves seeing their cars raced, but does absolutely nothing to support the amateur racer. Sorry, but it’s the truth.

The words "Porsche" and "discount" seldom appear near each other, let alone in the same sentence.

One of my favorite sayings: "What part of Porsche racing did you think was going to be cheap, the Porsche part or the racing part?"

Depends. What types of parts?

It is pretty easy to find steep discounts on new production car parts. Wholesale or a reasonable amount above wholesale.

For new Porsche motorports parts (those from Porsche Motorsports North America) things are different. But I have knowledge of folks that have done pretty well.

For used motorsports parts, I have seen folks do extremely well.

In my experience, which dates back about 30 years, I have seen folks do really, really well with parts that are not even close to being timed out.

It pays to network and be resourceful.

It all depends on the details.
