Using Blinkers for Point-By

I believe the local Audi Club North America chapter (Potomac) does this, they did alter the “old style” (side the blinker was to indicate) to mimic what is commonly used in EU and Canada a year or two ago, and it works fine.
They keep windows up, too.
Confusion is from attendees from other clubs (not just PCA) who know no other way than sticking their arm outside the window...
Ever tried to do that at 160 mph on the back straight at VIR in a GT2 RS? Hahahaha!
Love that dead-horse GIF!

In reality I seem to remember Cup Cars using signal lights at a DE, but the only time i've ever seen one is when it's got a problem..

Blinkers on race tracks.
Lovely.
I do enjoy my AC on, windows up, sipping my latte at speed while at the track.

A total of three but in reality it was a net 1 if you count the ones I gave back, that car would disappear from the esses to the bus stop it literally felt like I was on the binders. It was magical to watch.

If you 'blink' out your computer it will go away,....just for a short time. This only works with Windows.
Some race cars have permanent windows that do not allow a point by signal. Many people also run a window safety net which makes point byes somewhat anemic with a hand gesture. These cars need to use blinkers. I've also driven several events with a gentleman who only has one arm. In the drivers meeting it is made clear that he signals other drivers using his blinker.
Me,....I drive an open cockpit. If you can't see my point byes then you shouldn't be on track.

I'm registered for the last 3.
Dave, will I get to finally see the biggest tool trophy live and in person, or does that not come to events with you?

I will say this to any of the Audi club folks who are listening, I'm trying to get a group of people together to do one of their events at SP and multiple people don't want to run with them because of the unique point by system they use. The turn signal point by to the side the signaling driver is going to/staying at causes some confusion simply because it isn't done in the states by many (any?) other groups and people aren't used to it.

Three Wheelin'
This is the way it operates for anyone who's driven or raced at the Ring. The passee signals the direction they are going to move and it is up to the passing car to go the opposite direction. Pretty easy to learn and understand. Its HPDE, drivers have (*should) enough mental capacity to recognize a point-by. It doesn't take much to do the same for a turn signal. It does help because the passee can throw on the signal early and let the approaching driver known he's/she's been seen and can then plan the pass knowing where the lead car is going to be positioned on track.
