Recaro SPG in 997?
Has anyone installed Recarp SPG XL in a 997 with sliders and tunnel side stock seat belt receptacle? If so, how is the fit and is there any advice? Where does the tunnel 3 point receptacle run (inside seat or outside)?
I have very old Pole Positions and squeeze it all in, but the belt receptacle really rubs the center console. Also, thinking it may be time to swap them out since they are so old. Thanks, Skip |
Hey Good morning.
We have some experience in this install, behold.... PHOTOS! Notice in the last 2 photos where the seat belt receptacle comes through to the inside of the seat. This should take care of your issue with wear on the center console. Note: This 997 Turbo had the Bose system which made the door panels thicker than non-Bose cars. Yes I have SPG XL's in my 997 GT3. It's a tight fit but it fits and I can slide both seats back and for freely without rubbing. I was able to use the stock seat belt receptacle, barely pokes out from the cutout of the seat on the side to allow 6PT and factory 3 pt belts to be used. I think if you use the GT2 bucket extended receptacle it will poke out more. Mine are on GMG bases with Recaro sliders and side mounts.
