I drove in a little over a month ago. This was taken somewhere inside of where T5-6 was. The back side of the track is under development. The oval section is relatively untouched however parts of the NASCAR banking have been demolished. The job site shows about the same level of care that they had for the track when it was open.

We live 10 minutes from the former Bridgehampton circuit. Feel your pain.

I'll never forgive College Station and will likely never step foot in that town again.

Your contempt should be directed at the owner of the track, not the City of College Station. He had every right to do what he wanted with his property. But the way he let the track decay, and the things like the porta-potties and trying to get us to pay full price for the short course showed zero respect for his customers.

Agreed. And this continues: looks like new homeowners get to look at the rest of the track and the crumbling grandstands for another 2-3 years, based on what he says in the article

I have contempt for all involved - the city greased the skids. And yes, I'm just pissed off about it.

Opening the short course is a waste. I would never go there, after driving hundreds of laps on the "real thing":

The real shame is a bunch of Californians will move in transplanted by a California business and those people are not about preserving Texan values. Vegan Texas BBQ...Yuk!

When I think of Bridgehampton, and see this stuff happening, I get concerned for Lime Rock Park. Nowadays people have no conception of respecting something that other people love unless they love it too.

All things must pass including this relic
Car racing is dead.
People now only watch kids soccer and Netflix.
