Default Zone 2 VIR DE in March

Looks like the 3 day Zone 2 VIR DE is 3/15-3/17. (Fr, Sa, & Sun)
I couldn't find anything about the registration opening date.
Anyone here know when reg opens? (CR or MSR also please).
Def doing this DE and don't want to miss registration because of how crowded this DE has been in years past.
Can't find the reg date on the Zone 2 website.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
DGrobs

It will most likely be on MSR, and will propably open up 60 days prior. I’ll check with Marco and see what his plans are.

I’ll keep both eyes out coach.

I know this is going to be a good event but I hate to sign up for a track event that early in the season. We have some of our worst snowfalls in March here in Virginia. Ughhh.

It’s not as much of a crap shoot as Summit, North, by that time. Or Road Atlanta mid February...

I remember as clear as a bell the first race at the newly reopened VIR first weekend in March 2000.

It was beautiful.

Summit is way North of VIR.

2 very different weather systems.

VIR is North Carolina as far as I'm concerned. Heck, you have to go through Milton, NC to get to VIR.

Summit Point is Pennsylvania/Maryland to me.

The weather at last years Zone 2 DE at VIR was awesome. Nice cool mornings and very comfortable and sunny days. My car loved the cool crisp March Virginia weather.

Can't wait to register and hit one of my top two favorite tracks in March...

Bring it!!

The thermometer can wreck it also - if you're running R compounds that shouldn't be in low temps

Just need a couple extra "heat up the tire" laps before starting to push it.
My RE71R's have run in the cold (not Killington cold, but cold) and I haven't had any issues but I didn't push it until I knew the tires were heat cycled up.
I remember a Vette hitting the wall at last years Zone 2 event at VIR coming out of turn 4 because he lost the rear end due to cold tires. IIRC, it was on the out lap for the session (or the 2nd lap of the session). It was pretty cool that morning. That's on the driver, not the weather. He even said "what was I thinking" when his car got back to the paddock. I think he was parked in the row in front of where you and I were parked (between us and pit out).
My prediction for this years Zone 2 weather is 68 degrees and sunny all 3 days. Mark it down and take it to the bank.
