IMSA Driver Ratings
#16
Too bad...
In the early days, a few F1 drivers showed up for IMSA races. By '75, the FIA made things more difficult and they wouldn't let Peterson drive the BMW CSL at Sebring, so Moffat filed in. Didn't matter and they still won (I managed 2nd). In '73 I remember having a good race with Revson at Lime Rock. If I were starting out today, it sounds like my challenge would be ratings, not the race track. Shame.

All based on the FIA ratings (which determines driver pairings across classes for International events). Here: https://www.fia.com/fia-driver-categorisation
The top shows the requirements, at the bottom of the page is the PDF with the current Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum rankings.
Pretty much any Am (or aspiring Pro) driver can enter the rankings at Bronze, when you win in minor championships. Then, upon review of lap times and results, the ranking can go to Silver. Gold and Platinum are generally reserved for major championship winners or factory drivers.
As drivers crest a certain age (50, then 55, then 60), they are downgraded! Or if they don't race consistently for a certain time span.
